Let’s start off with a bit of background. It’s been a very interesting few days to say the least. You know how you start watching a youtube video about cats and end up 3 hours later on something completely and totally unrelated to where you started off? well that happened to me the other day, and I “discovered” something magnificent, Precious metal investing/collecting.

The idea is that you take fiat money (currency issued by the government) and use it to purchase precious metals like Gold/Silver (either physical or the other virtual one which name I forgot right now). Why? well there are many reasons, Metals will never lose their value and fiat money can easily lose its value due to things like hyperinflation (see Zimbabwe and their 100 trillion dollar bill, no seriously google it, it’s real) so obviously this part greatly appeals to the survivalist in me. Having a tradable currency guaranteed never to loose its value even in a post apocalyptic zombie/nuclear tomorrow. The other reason is for investing goals, a quick look at any Silver/Gold price chart for the last few years will show you that they have been steadily gaining value.

Governments can issue (print more) fiat money, which causes inflation and the money already in circulation to loose its value since our currencies are no longer on the gold standard and thus not backed by anything other than a “promise” from the government saying “trust us, we’re good for it”. Well I have trust issues then. Precious Metals must be found and mined from the earth, thus there is only a finite amount of it available, as we use more and more of it for jewelry, coins, technology etc the amount left gets less, and it’s value goes up, the investors inside us like that very much.

The general idea is very simple, take fiat currency while it still has a value, use it to purchase precious metals which will never loose their value. If the price reaches an all time high sell (some of) your precious metals and wait for the price to settle down again. Rinse and repeat.

I placed my first order yesterday for some Precious metals, mostly silver and some base metals as I don’t have the money for gold at the moment. I will do a review of what i’ve got and where I got it when it gets here in a few weeks. As for right now I thought I would just post this here so long so you can follow my journey and we can share some knowledge.

As always, Thanks for reading.

It’s update time and wow I have got some fantastic news to share today.

Seedstuff.ca are now accepting Bitcoins as payment for seedboxes and servers! Who said Bitcoin mining was dead, get the old mining rig back up and running and mine a better ratio for yourself . Some might say that this is a risky move by seedstuff but considering seedstuffs’ growth the past few months I would say it was a very clever move. Using Bitcoins as payment for a seedbox is probably the most anonymous way to go about seeding and leeching these days, so good on you Seedstuff, we like being anonymous on the internet.

In other news, New server location added.

Previously one only had the choice of which strength (or price) server to take, but not any more. Seedstuff has once again proven themselves as a company who cares about its customers and decided to secure servers in North America. This will probably be pointless to all the European folks, but the American customers will see better speeds between server and home computer downloads.

If you are closer to North America than Europe, here’s the quick server rundown:

Hobo (225GB HDD, $15 p/m)

Turbo (450GB HDD, $25 p/m)

Ultimate (900GB HDD, $35 p/m)

They have started with only 3 plans (to test the waters I presume), should the new server locations be well accepted i’m sure they will add more choices into the mix.

If you are looking to get one of these servers, as always, I would recommend the second one to start out with (Turbo package) the reason is it comes with all the bells and whistles that seedstuff has to offer instead of just seeding and leeching capabilities, but if you don’t need that much storage or any of those other features feel free to sign up for the Hobo package.

Don’t forget you can still get 20% off the first month by using this coupon code: givemediscount

Now for the tricky question, Europe vs North America, which one should I choose?

The answer for that question depends on A- What you want to do with the server? and B- your budget.

Let me explain, If you want to do some ratio building and your budget can handle a few extra dollars per month expense I would say get the European seedbox. If you are a bit strapped for cash get a North American seedbox. At time of writing (only a day or two after the announcement was made) it seems like the North American seedboxes are a bit cheaper. Generally the nOOb seedboxes sell out fastest and it seems like the Hobo seedbox is meant to be its North American brother, but at $5 cheaper per month. In my experience European servers transfer the biggest amounts of data since many other seedbox providers use the same datacentre in Europe as Seedstuff, obviously it’s quicker to transfer data from a server in the next server isle than a server in North America.

However don’t be fooled into thinking the new North American seedboxes will be lacking in speed, Seedstuff has been to a few of these rodeos by now and i’m sure they wont have signed any deals with providers in North America if they aren’t prepared to deliver.

That’s all news I have for now. Feel free to browse my site for some more info and reviews about seedsuff.ca and please don’t hesitate to contact me or comment below.

As always thanks for reading.

It’s been a few months since I posted my last review of Seedstuff, and my have things changed (for the better though!).

They have got a new website which takes a little getting used to but once I noticed the navigation on the top it was smooth sailing, and it looks great so that doesn’t hurt

Many many new shared plans!
They went all out and got an amazing array of plans to choose from, the compact “Garbage 2.0″ (60gb hdd, 100mbps for $10) all the way up to “Super l337″ (900gb hdd, 1Gbps for $60). I really think you will be able to find one that fits your pocket and needs perfectly without any hassle.

I gave away a “garbage 2.0″ plan a while ago on here and contrary to its naming the little shared seedbox can perform.
The litte box is good for if you are just testing the waters, but I would say start out with the “n00b” plan (225gb hdd, 100mbps for $20 ) or at the very least the “scrub” plan(125gb hdd, 100mbps for $15) then you get the whole Seedstuff package (private IP, Proxy, Rar/unrar on server, Transdroid support).
All of the shared plans still have uncapped and unmetered bandwidth so you can move A LOT of data with them.

New dedicated server plans and more.
I remember when seedstuff just started up with 4 dedicated server plans, not really much too choose from. Now it looks like linux-geek-heaven (dont worry you can still take a managed box if you are a bit weary of the linux command line and all the SSH talk). Plans range from the newly-added “mini K2g” (500gb hdd, 100mbps, 5TB external traffic for $30 managed) all the way to the “EG11″ (4tb hdd, 1gbps, 20tb external traffic for $210 managed).

Recently they also brought out 2 new changes:
*USB external drives: for a once off fee of $50 and $20 monthly you can add 2tb storage to any dedicated server.
*External bandwidth cap: this is due to abuse of some sort I believe, If you use the server for torrenting you will have to be a busy person to reach this cap (remember many other seedbox providers share the same data-centers so seeding/leeching from them doesn’t count as external bandwidth).

If you feel you can setup your own rutorrent/rtorrent configuration then you can save $5 per month by choosing a operating system that is unmanaged during checkout (The “linux seedbox Ubuntu server w/rTorrent & FTP” option is managed, all the others are unmanaged).

So how is the speed?
AMAZING! Sorry for internet shouting but that’s how I feel, I did a speedtest from the command line (“wget http://speedtest.qsc.de/1GB.qsc”) and got full speed for my dedi (11.2 M/s) (proof). I would post a screenshot of my ruTorrent page but you don’t want to see me seeding all those linux .iso’s do you

Customer service?
Swift, kind, to the point, get-the-job-done.

Any perks?
You can still get 20% off of a new plan for the 1st month when you use this coupon during checkout: givemediscount

Not much more to say really, they do what they advertise to do, service is great and so are the speeds. Personally I’ve been with them for ~9 months and I’ve never been happier with any other seedbox provider.

So really, go ahead and sign up ->

Until next time and thanks for coming to my website.

Hey fellow internet users, Today i’m going to give my honest review of Seedstuff.ca

Seedstuff.ca have some pretty good prices, but since they are a new company and not many users are aware of them many users are afraid of signing up and spending hard earned cash on a new(ish) company. Well FEAR NO MORE! I took the plunge and got myself a seedstuff seedbox, The seedbox speeds were amazing. But soon enough I knew that the cheap seedbox wasnt enough for me, I wanted more access, so I got myself the K2G dedicated server. I was blown out of the water with this little dedi, the speeds were amazing, speed test confirmed 85mbps up and 89mbps down on 1st run, few hours later I did a rerun and got slightly faster results, needless to say I was impressed.

In total I’ve had the server for 4 months, and in total the server has been offline for 0 minutes (okay okay I manually restarted it twice while installing some programs, but 0 minutes of unplanned downtime). Per month I do about 3.5 TB data transfer, and I’ve been taking it easy, i’m sure you can push that amount up way high if you really try.

So really, go ahead and try one of their servers/seedboxes, you wont be disappointed.

Maybe you aren’t ready to commit yet, so let me make it a Little bit easier for you, here is a 20% discount coupon for the 1st month: givemediscount

Give it a shot, simply enter it as coupon over here: http://seedstuff.ca

EDIT: I’ve posted a newer review, you can read it here ->

- Seedstuff.ca, the truth, they are the best seedbox provider out there.

They have good prices and what I like they actually tell you how many users there are per server unlike some other providers which overpopulate the living hell out of the servers so you never get any speed. I’ve never had any major issues from them, only issues I’ve had have been from my own mistakes setting up programs on the dedicated server I have from them, they helped me fix that asap though – can you say Best seedbox provider. They like to hang out on IRC, I like that they have some time on their hands to just hang around and talk trash with me a bit, helps to build customer relations a lot!.

Another massive bonus is they offer Uncapped data on all of their plans, this is a major bonus for anyone serious about ratio building.

But wait there’s more, just when you though it couldn’t get better (you should think that by the way), here is a

coupon for 20% discount : givemediscount

They are BY FAR the best seedbox provider out there.

Payment methods they accept are : Credit card & Paypal.

Be sure to check them out : www.seedstuff.ca
